The Sealyham Terrier

The Sealyham Terrier is one of few breeds that owes it's development to the inspiration of one man. Between 1850 & 1891 Captain John Edwardes, of Sealyham in Haverford West, Wales, set out to develop a terrier that could hunt Fox, Otter or even Badger. There is no doubt he succeeded in his aim and produced a tough, game & strong strain of terrier which quickly became popular.

Sealyham's have a marked independence of nature and can be cautious with strangers, they are good house dogs and superb companions, and they make loyal, affectionate pets.
